The Good Stuff
FYI, this is Rapadura sugar. The company seems to have minimized that in the new packaging (or removed it completely on the new bags!?) - probably to get new customers to purchase it in stores, whom might have put it back not knowing what rapadura is.Rapadura is a very historic whole food and completely unprocessed from cane-sugar. It is the best/healthiest form of sugar. Arguably, maybe raw honey is better. But if you need sugar, go with this stuff.It is all I use now, for bread making to jam and everything in between. (And really raw honey) :)Buy with confidence! Enjoy

Love it!!!
We were turned on to this product by my husband's cousin and we just love it!!! It is a great substitute (1 to 1) for regular white sugar, although it does have a bit of a different taste...but nothing that is noticable in recipes. After using this for just a week or so we can hardly stand to eat things made with white sugar! Its amazing how fast that happens! I would say buy this!!!

great sugar
I bought this sugar to use in my water kefir sodas and it makes my kefir grains so happy. They are going crazy!!! They are reproducing like crazy and bouncing all over the jar!!! They did not even get close to soda fizzy with other sugar but it is so fizzy I have to watch the fermenting time to be sure there are no explosions. Great stuff and great on cream of wheat and grits. Kids even like it.

Exactly what I asked for
Good, prompt service! My only problem, one that I took care of myself, was that one of the sugar bags seemed to have a box blade cut on the package causing some of the sugar to be spilled into the shipping container. Since there wasn't a huge amount missing from the bag, I simply transfered the contents to a sealable bag of my own. I thought it better to do that than try shipping the item one single piece back. Otherwise, I'm completely happy with my purchase.

Glad I made the switch.
This is the best price anywhere, unless you're buying it in 25- or 50-pound bags. I parted ways with refined sugar a long time ago, and since raw honey doesn't suit every recipe for which sweetness is called, Sucanat fills the gap beautifully. I've been testing ice cream recipes and it really does contribute a rich, caramel flavour to every blend. None of us has noticed the typical sugar highs and lows with this product, but perhaps that is due at least in part to always accompanying it with plenty of good fats.One caveat, though, and it is absolutely not a strike against this product: it won't make traditional caramel! Be forewarned. When heated and melted, it becomes molasses. I happen to like the bitter, smoky taste, but it didn't really suit the recipe. I'll just stick with its natural caramel qualities from now on.This small issue aside, it is a delicious, rich-tasting and high-quality product that will contribute a deep, full, warm taste and not just...

A Good Alternative!
This sugar is healthier than the processed kind and super tasty. Amazon offers it at an AWESOME price, but if you have a serious sweet tooth I would caution against purchasing it in such a large amount. It is so good that it takes some constraint not to stir it into every cup of tea, bowl of oats, and picture of lemon aid. Remember that is is STILL SUGAR and should be used sparingly! There are healtier alternatives out there, but for that special cake or an occasional cup of hot cocoa this is my pick.

Where Can I buy Rapadura Sugar

Simply put, Rapadura sugar has been growing in popularity, and we are interested in finding out the reasons behind that growing popularity of Rapadura sugar. You have to keep it in mind that unlike ordinary sugar which is presented in the form of granules, Rapadura sugar is typically presented in the form of ‘cakes’ or rather, bricks. Confusingly, I always thought of jaggery as another name for palm sugar and it seems it can be produced from either palm or sugarcane.
